Making it happen with an empowering campaign for Blum
Services
The Problem
For decades, Blum has produced precision-engineered furniture componentry that performs flawlessly. Yet while product quality had built strong credibility, Blum’s UK team wanted to create a deeper connection with those whose livelihoods depend on delivering quality work every day.
The brief to Cairn was clear: develop a unifying campaign that could resonate across an audience of independent fitters, bespoke cabinet makers and larger-scale manufacturers, without relying on product features or technical specifications alone.
The Insight
Research revealed that tradespeople share a strong sense of identity built around craftsmanship, reputation and pride in a job done properly. In turn, this creates benefits outside the workplace – time won back to spend with family and switch off. This insight shaped a campaign that positioned Blum not simply as a supplier, but as a partner who understands the demands of the job and the lives built around it.
The Solution
More than a campaign line, ‘Make It Happen’ celebrates the determination, skill and resilience required to complete every project, while positioning Blum as the trusted partner behind that success.
Running across trade press, social media, PR, radio and OOH, the campaign brought together each audience, pairing recognisable workplace moments with subtle references to life beyond the job – from family time and everyday rituals to the passions that motivate them outside work.
By recognising both the pride people take in their work and the lives they build around it, Cairn created a campaign that elevated Blum from a product manufacturer to a brand that genuinely understands the people who rely on it every day.
”"Cairn’s campaign encapsulated what makes Blum unique – far more than just product, Blum enables its customers to perform their jobs brilliantly, while recognising the ebb and flow of our audiences’ lives in and out of work. We’re incredibly pleased with the ‘Make It Happen campaign and its role in sustaining Blum’s category leadership"
