With the dust settling on KBB 2024, the biennial event for the ‘kitchen-bedroom-bathroom’ industry held at the NEC, I wanted to reflect on a successful few days in which the Cairn team showcased new work for several major brands.

This year, I’m proud to say we were responsible for the stand designs for nobilia (Europe’s largest kitchen manufacturer), Kutchenhaus (the international German kitchen retailer), Whirlpool-owned InSinkErator (the world’s leading food waste disposer brand) and Blum (global leader in furniture fittings).

For nobilia, the stand saw the launch of its ‘Complete support, naturally’ campaign. Aimed at independent kitchen studios, the message is all about the various added-value benefits of stocking nobilia kitchens.

A key consumer brand within the nobilia group is Kutchenhaus – the UK’s fastest-growing franchise business with more than 70 kitchen showrooms nationwide – whose stand featured the Cairn-produced ‘Will your next venture be with Kutchenhaus?’ campaign, encouraging independent kitchen designers and investors to join the retail network.

Meanwhile, InSinkErator launched its new campaign – ‘It’s This Easy’ (also developed by Cairn, with production by Dead Pixel Films) – to promote the new direction for the brand as it embarks on a consumer-led strategy aimed at educating kitchen buyers around the lifestyle and environmental benefits of food waste disposers.

This year’s KBB event saw the highest visitor turnout in 10 years, attracting over 17,000 people. I have to say, it was brilliant to see the floor of the NEC bustling with bodies and there was undoubtedly a buzz about the place.

For our team, who were behind four of the show’s highest profile stands, it was the culmination of months of planning and a major milestone in the agency’s continued growth.

It’s been a fantastic experience working with these great brands and a proud moment for the whole agency to see the ideas come to life. The reaction has been incredibly positive across the board and we’re looking forward to developing the campaign concepts even further as they spin out across various channels.
