When Crosslee closed their Yorkshire-based tumble dryer factory they were committed to continuing their legacy in the area by bringing a sustainable, mixed-use development to the site. To help gain permission for the scheme, Cairn was tasked with demonstrating how it would benefit the local community.
Working with Crosslee’s directors, we created six months of online and press activity that included press releases and material designed to reassure and educate the local area about the advantages of the proposed development.
The result was the approval of the development by the local council, which led to major housing developer Barratt Homes and care home developer Torsion Care purchasing the site from our client.
PR helped make this possible, strengthening Crosslee’s position and helping to bring the development forward during a time when the UK needs more homes.
”"PR was instrumental in communicating the benefits and getting us to where we needed to be with this development. We’re passionate about the local area and seeing our unused land approved for new homes is great, helping meet the considerable housing need in Calderdale."
